The Huey is an iconic vehicle that was the staple of war in Vietnam. Its mobility allowed for the fast transportation of troops throughout the thick jungle of Vietnam and cut travel times to fractions compared ground transportation. Some Huey’s were also fitted with missiles and machine guns to provide escort assistance to supply convoys and aggressively use fast attack tactics on infantry positions.

In order to keep up with the speed of the lesser armed Huey's, Bell designed another helicopter due to the previous model being too slow because of it being weighed down by its 3000 pounds of ammunition. The end product was the Bell AH-1 Cobra, a two-blade, single engine attack helicopter with the potential for massive destruction.
